Spring?

I find that spring has sprung early for Indiana. I have found at least two leaks in the roof Of the RV. It is 7:14 p.m. and darkness has already descended on the world and I am driving into town to get a tarp. I'm going to attempt to put a tarp on tonight as I get back to the house. I don't really have the weather to seal up the roof with anything permanent but a tarp might help to avert some of the rain for at least this week.

Wish me luck.

Pick a part

Yesterday I went to pick a part in Indianapolis for the first time. It is a junk yard where you just pick what you want off of any vehicle in the lot and buy it. I found some hubcaps I thought would fit the RV… they didn’t and some blinds off a camper van. The blinds fit the bathroom window perfectly and look great.
I was planning on using a home security camera I have laying around as a rear view camera on the RV but after hooking it up for the first time in months I found that the screen turns to snow after a few minutes.  I found a cool wireless cam and monitor on amazon for around 99$ but I really didn’t want to spend more money on that idea. I can think of other cool applications for a wireless security cam though.
I should be posting the aforementioned video on here today as I have finally figured out how to work youtubes. I hope it works well… the cam on my phone is pretty crappy.

I got it up on the youtubes but it will be evolving as the video editor cleans it up but the rough copy is now available for viewing... new video will be done in landscape, sorry I didn't realize how bad it would look.

I also got the water heater tank out of the tub to find that it had a huge slit in it on the side... I will now have to hunt for a new water heater. The water heater was the reason for going to pick a part in the first place but alas they do not have RVs there so I will be looking for other junk yards in my area.

I also managed to get the hood off the engine and started to put the air filter back together. I discovered the reason they prev. owner took off the air filter was so he could manually open the chock as he was driving.
The hoes that went from the air intake to the filter was a dryer hose. this maybe ok but I am going to try to fit some I found at pick-a-part. I will be fixing all these problems soon I hope. I now have a mechanically minded person helping me, now I just need an electrician.

Grrr Vlog hurts

I am in the process of uploading a video that gives a tour of my RV but my phone said YouTube had to review the video first before it would upload... that was a day ago so I will be uploading it soon I hope.

On a good note I will be going to a RV expo at the Indiana Fair Grounds some time this week. I am hoping to get good ideas for energy efficient solutions to common problems. I will be taking pics as I am expecting to be really excited about the whole thing.

Happy accidents

Today I got to fix the sink putting it all the way back together again hooked up to the water. I put a window blinds and hung curtains. I also finish my splash guard which I think looks amazing for being floor tiles that only costme 62 cents each.Today I feel like I got a lot done.

I had a happy accident when I moved my fake brick wall out of the way.  I put it up over the whole that goes to the bed over the cab and it looks really good.

The slabs

Just saw a news report about the slabs on my local Indiana channel. The report was about more "normal" people are going to the slabs; I think the reporter call them financial refuges. I did not learn anything new from the report but it was interesting to see how many more people are there in the rest of it would be, I'm guessing it is because of the winter months. The slabs looked really dirty maybe if I go there I will work towards getting looking like its not a junk yard. Unless the camera man was using the actual slabs junk yard as background. The report also told me that everyone there is primarily using 12 gauge shotguns as personal protection. I may need to get my gun back...

So far the reservation is at a standstill. I tried to plug the rv into house power but there is something wrong with the ground and that caused me to get shocked every time I open the door.

I have brought most of the ecstatic items that I will be adding and I just got a new refrigerator dropped off at my house. So today I'm going to try to plug the rv into a outlet more suited towards the plug and get some things knocked out before work.
